We are dedicated to preserving Los Angeles's south bay coastal ecosystems by recycling oyster shells from our local community. Our goal is to guide restaurants and customers in recognizing the invaluable benefits of oyster recycling, improving our communities and environment.

Within the United States alone, around 2.5 billion oysters are consumed each year, according to the Oyster Recovery Partnership. Less than half of the country's oyster shells are currently recycled, contributing to the decline of vital oyster populations, including the native Olympia oysters, among others. Every day locals of the South Bay and throughout the Los Angeles area dine at restaurants where delicious seafood, such as oysters, are being served, allowing us the opportunity to repurpose these shells for the benefit of our ecosystem. 

By recycling oyster shells, we can ensure their continued use for these purposes, promoting environmental sustainability and supporting the health of our coastal ecosystems. Through the South Bay Oyster Recycling services, residents and restaurants in the south bay prevent oyster shells from being sent to landfills as waste. Instead, we promote stewardship of our environment.
